I thaw into a river

underneath their warmth

Glazing over their skin

like icing on a cake

I can never melt away

My aura clings on

illuminating everything I touch

A healing graze

breaking through each visible

crack, blister, and patch

But I cannot travel too far

blind to what lies below

and hides beneath the surface

Still I baptize them into womanhood

Mending the wounds I did not make

and hiding the scars that can never heal

In them I become infinite

as I seep into their veins

They use me,

my neverending family

I’m the single thread that connects them all
